Southwest Florida wildfires update April 1, 2018

Florida Forest Service crews were back on-scene of the Greenway fire and the Flag Pond fire over the weekend.

Crews conducted mop-up work after a day of scattered showers.

Crews are still at the scene monitoring the wildfires.

1. Greenway Fire

Acres: 17,957
Containment: 90%
Cause: Lightning

2. Flag Pond Fire

County: Collier
Acres: 2,578
Containment: 100%
Cause: Lightning

#GreenwayFire is now 17,957 acres and 90% contained. The burn out yesterday was successful to consume unburned fuels. Crews continue to monitor the #FlagPondFire. Very little rain on any of the fires. #FlFire #FlWildfire #wildfire
