TULSA, Okla. - Local firefighters joined the effort to battle wildfires in western Oklahoma.
The Tulsa County Wildfire Task Force sent 30 firefighters to the area yesterday to help battle fires in Vici.

The force, which was created six months ago, includes firefighters from Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Collinsville, Sperry and four other local departments.
The Oklahoma Forestry Service called for them to help respond as wildfires raged in the western part of the state.
They left Saturday morning with seven brush trucks and three support vehicles and joined 500 firefighters from across the state.
Officials have not said when they will return.
The task force is comprised of volunteers who have received certification from the state.
