SAN JOSE — Six people, including three children, were displaced in a duplex fire on Saturday, according to the San Jose Fire Department.
The fire also forced the closure of North White Road between McKee Road and Eastside Drive. Crews were dispatched to the scene about 1:53 p.m. on Saturday, San Jose Fire Captain Brad Cloutier said.
The fire was on the second floor of one of the two-story apartments in the complex, which crews were able to quickly extinguish, Cloutier said. One adult was displaced from that unit, and two adults with three children were displaced from the neighboring apartment.
“The neighboring unit has minor fire damage, but smoke and water damage,” he said.
The Red Cross is working with the displaced individuals, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and North White Road remains closed.
