OAKLEY — A home in the 5000-block of Claremont Court in Oakley was damaged by a fire early Saturday morning, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

Crews responded at about 5:19 a.m. to a fire on the side of a home, and managed to keep it from spreading to another nearby structure. The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused significant damage to the structure, as well as heat damage to a vehicle and trailer at an adjoining home, according to the department.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
