Sussex family loses home and all their belongings Dec. 22. Lisbon and Merton Fire Departments collecting items to help the family. - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Just days before Christmas, a Lisbon family of five lost their ranch-style home and their belongings to fire the afternoon of Dec. 22, the Lisbon Fire Department confirmed.

The home was on Plainview Road.

According to the Jeske Family Fire Relief Fund's Facebook page, the father's younger sister wrote that the family is safe, but they lost their house and all of their belongings. The three children are girls ages 7, 4 and 2. The family attends Sussex's Woodside Elementary School, according to the school's Facebook page.

In just hours after the fire, more than $2,400 was donated through the Facebook page.

The Menomonee Falls, towns of Brookfield and Delafield, Hartland, Merton, Pewaukee, Sussex and Germantown fire departments assisted in fighting the fire.

How to help

Both the Lisbon and Merton fire departments are collecting donations for the families.

According to the Woodside Elementary School Parent Facebook page, the family needs basic necessities and Meijer, Kohl's, Target and Walmart gift cards.

For clothes, the 7-year old girl needs size seven tops, size six pants and size 12 shoes. The 4-year old girl needs size four tops and pants and six 9 shoes. The 2-year-old needs toddler size 2clothes and size 7 shoes.

The mother wears size medium, and the father wears size large clothes.

The girls also like "Frozen," stuffed animals, board games and books.

The Lisbon Fire Department will collect donations Dec. 23 at the Richmond Fire Station, N54 W26455 Lisbon Road, Pewaukee.

Items may be delivered to the Merton Fire Department, 28343 Sussex Road, until 5 p.m. Dec. 24.

Monetary items can be donated online through the Jeske Family Fire Relief fund on Facebook.

According to the Woodside Elementary School Parent Facebook Page, the school officials are in the process of putting together a list of the family's longer-term needs.

This will happen once school is in session, school officials said.

This is a developing story. Check back for more information as it becomes available.
